Meet Lisa Muswagon

Lisa Muswagon is a beadwork artist from Norway House Cree Nation and the creator behind Birchberri Beads, where she designs hand-beaded jewelry and accessories inspired by family traditions.

Lisa learned beadwork alongside her grandmother, Matilda Muswagon, whose careful stitching, detailed designs, and creative use of colour left a lasting impression on her. Those early memories became the foundation of Lisa’s own artistic journey.

Each piece she creates is carefully hand-stitched and thoughtfully designed, blending traditional techniques with contemporary style. Through her work, Lisa continues her grandmother’s legacy while creating wearable pieces that carry meaning, memory, and cultural connection. She also welcomes custom orders for those seeking meaningful gifts or ceremonial pieces.
